Wandering around

Freedom.
Yes, Aaron definitely felt free. It was getting late, the sky was already darkening, and yet it seemed that each and every second was lasting an eternity... Could he have ever imagined being able to breathe Hogward's air again after Aileen ? Aileen... he had almost forgotten this name, for he had been trying so hard to erase it from his memories, for more than one year...
The young man pulled himself together ; these recollections would do nothing but harm him. Merlin knew how much it could affect him, to what extent it could
destroy him... No, he didn't want this anymore...nevermore.

And here it went again ; a simple thought brought a billow of feelings back to his heart, and he couldn't get rid of them. And there came anger, as usual ; angry not to be able to control his own spirit, not to be able to master his soul...
Aaron raised his head, and looked straight in front of him, staring at the still waters of the lake, immobile, ash-like... the moon seemed to be sneering at him. What was so funny about him ? Would it never stop smiling ?

He was becoming mad. Tired, weary, the Slytherin sat down. If only...if only Melody could have been here with him...how was she like, now ? Was she as kind and sweet as before ? Had...had his departure affected her ? She was fourteen now, and still a Muggle. Aaron was still desperately trying to find a solution to what seemed to be a big problem to him, being a wizard, and her a simple teenager, a weak young woman... But no one had ever managed to “wizardise” a Muggle before, and as smart as he was, he still felt that he would never achieve this wish. He felt so stupid right now, so...useless.

Aaron dug his fingers into the mud. If anyone had passed by him at this moment, the Slytherin would have killed them. Nobody had the right to tell him what he could or could not do. If he wanted her sister to become a witch, then she would become one, period. Why was everything so complicated in this stupid world ? Why couldn't he just do what he wanted to do ? During his whole life, he had been trying to achieve each and every of his goals – and he had succeeded in this ; so why couldn't he fulfill
that dream ?

The Slytherin was roused from his thoughts by the characteristic noise of footsteps behind him. He didn't flinch. If anyone wanted to risk their life, they were free to do it... but he definitely wasn't in a mood to chat, or even to test anybody – strange, huh ?

The young man didn't even try to be presentable, nor to adopt a “open” attitude. The anger was slowly ebbing, but he felt it could burst again any minute. Consequently, Aaron was careful to keep control of his emotions. He was on the defensive, ready to react to any undesirable action from the newcomer.

Wandering aroung [in English - libre] Empty
MessageSujet: Re: Wandering aroung [in English - libre]   Wandering aroung [in English - libre] EmptyLun 12 Avr - 1:22

Naelia was in a strange mood, that evening. She was neither happy nor sad, neither tired nor really awake, she was like floating across the park without even noticing what surrounded her. Mechanically, she was sauntering aimlessly, not even reflecting on anything. She was just there, walking – did she need any reason to do that ?
The young girl came back to earth – literally speaking – when she slipped on the humid grass and fell to the ground. She quickly got on her feet, cleaning her filthy hands, smudged with mud, on her trousers. Okay, she got the message, she should go back to the castle now.
But at that moment, she noticed a silhouette, sat on the ground, only a few feet ahead of her. Curious, the witch screwed up her eyes, trying to distinguish the features of the unknown's face, but she didn't manage to.
The night was already falling, and curiously, Naelia felt weird, as always when night came ; she never acted the same way by night than at daytime. She felt more free, less imprisoned by all the social rules people had to follow, what they called “ethics”. Therefore, the Hufflepuff did not hesitate go closer to the student, still without interpellating them.

She eventually recognized Aaron's profile, when she was close enough. He did not seem very welcoming. The young girl sat down next to him and kept silencious. The Slytherin didn't seem to be in a talkative mood, consequently Naelia chose to wait a little before taking the “risk” to address him. And anyway, she had nothing to say...

But her serenity didn't last long; indeed, a lot of questions started ringing out in her spirit ; why was he here ? Was he having an insomnia, or had he decided not to sleep early ? Was anything worrying him ?

Ewww... she should really stop thinking. Why was she so curious and nosy (in her thoughts) that night ?
Naelia noticed that Aaron's hands were sort of “clasping” the mud, as though the young man was angry. Well... she hoped he wasn't, she didn't really want to be killed right now.
After a while, the teenage girl decided to talk ; she said, almost whispering :

“Is anything better than a peaceful night to reflect ? Seems to me like it should last forever...”

Paradoxically, the Hufflepuff didn't feel particularly well, and, looking at Aaron, it seemed that he didn't either. Nevertheless, she did want this moment to last longer than a few hours, even though she was kind of wistful. The Slytherin might not appreciate her sentence, as well as her presence, but she didn't care. She was probably already annoying him, saying stupid things and disturbing the pure silence. However, despite her not really knowing nor liking the young man, she felt in need of company that night. What's more, she found it was a good opportunity to get to know him a little bit better. And if he didn't want to, then at least she would have tried.

Traduction :

Wandering aroung [in English - libre] Empty
MessageSujet: Re: Wandering aroung [in English - libre]   Wandering aroung [in English - libre] EmptyLun 12 Avr - 23:19

The newcomer sat by his side, without saying a word. Aaron smelled a feminine perfume, but did not try to recognize the young girl that had just arrived. If she wanted to, then she would reveal her identity to him, by talking. But in any case, he appreciated the unknown’s tact ; for now, she wasn’t bothering him. After all, a bit a company couldn’t cause him any harm.
This silence was quite pleasant, peaceful, letting him reflect quietly. And then a voice came, almost a whisper, that did not completely break the serenity of the night. “Is anything better than a peaceful night to reflect ? Seems to me like it should last forever...”
His mind was telling him that he should be angry to be disturbed and answer dryly, but he didn’t actually want to. He had recognized Thurindae’s voice, who he didn’t know very well. He had no a priori on her, and she was just a complete stranger to him. Maybe this night was a good opportunity for them to get to know each other better. Maybe not. Honestly, he wasn’t in a mood to reflect, that night. She wanted to talk ? Then, let’s talk. It was as simple as that.

“You’re right…At least, at night, everybody’s sleeping, with their hypocrisy… well, except for you…”

The night was a precious moment to Aaron, because in the daytime, he felt he was the only one to be true and authentic. The other people were always acting false, as though they were hiding their real personality. What for ? Why was it so hard for them to be themselves ? The Slytherin often had to act in order to achieve his goals, to manage to cheat people. But he always did it on purpose, because he felt he had to, if he wanted to be able to reach his objectives. But when he was not “plotting”, he never tried to hide his character. He didn’t care about deceiving other people, or being rejected, he assumed himself, and it seemed to be a fault these days.

Realizing that she could be mistaken by his words, he added :

“I don’t mean you’re hypocritical. Or should I ?”

He didn’t know her well enough to be able to judge her. But for what he knew, she seemed to be quite authentic too. At least, he hoped she was. He really didn’t want to be told lies that night. Nonetheless, she seemed to share his taste for peace, and she had not hesitated saying what she felt at that moment, so the young man didn’t find he had to worry about her telling the truth.

He didn’t leave her time to answer :

“Know what ? I don’t care. You’d just be like everyone else. We don’t have to talk about it. I don’t wanna do so… why are you here ?”

He didn’t have a particular reason for being here at that time of the day (or should I say the night), so he didn’t really expect a precise answer. Actually, he wasn’t expecting any answer at all. He just didn’t care. He didn’t care about anything. He was so tired… exhausted by a stupid world where he didn’t find his place, for the very simple reason that he had none. He didn’t belong here.

.oOo.oOo.oOo.oOo.oOo.oOo

Alors, qu'ils parlent. C'était aussi simple que ça.

“Tu as raison...

Wandering aroung [in English - libre] Empty
MessageSujet: Re: Wandering aroung [in English - libre]   Wandering aroung [in English - libre] EmptySam 17 Avr - 20:38

Naelia was surprised that the Slytherin didn't turn her away. He seemed quite tolerant that night. The young girl was glad to be able to approach him and get to know him a little better. Aaron just remained silent, and when she talked, he listened before answering “You’re right…At least, at night, everybody’s sleeping, with their hypocrisy… well, except for you…”

Naelia was slowly beginning to understand who he was. His vision of mankind was so cynical, as though he wanted to tear it down, to destroy it, that she did not know what to answer. Nonetheless, she did agree with him ; most people didn't dare to show who they really were. As for her, when she did, she was often criticized, but she didn't even manage not to be herself, consequently she didn't feel she was acting false. She didn't have the same hatred for hypocritical people as Aaron, but she still cared very much for honesty and sincerity. Yes, Aaron was right, people were false – but who didn't have any fault ? Of course, she wished people could be better, but she believed their faults were actually part of their personality, so, in a way, when they hid behind appearances, they were themselves : hypocritical. The Hufflepuff didn't want them to make efforts, she just lived with that, and tried to be better herself.

She didn't have time to answer, since Aaron added : “I don’t mean you’re hypocritical. Or should I ?”

Hardly had Aaron finished his sentence when he said : “Know what ? I don’t care. You’d just be like everyone else. We don’t have to talk about it. I don’t wanna do so… why are you here ?”

Naelia didn't answer immediately. She believed she wasn't two-faced, but who knew ? She might as well be like everyone else, just as Aaron just said. She didn't know, and didn't want to. Actually, she was scared of what she might find if she looked for an answer.
But what Aaron had finally said had puzzled her. The young man obviously didn't want to know it neither. Anyway, she wouldn't answer, as he didn't want her to, all the more so since she wasn't in a mood to reflect.

But the Slytherin had asked her another question. Why was she here ? She didn't know... Of course, she had always had insomnias, so she couldn't sleep at night, but she didn't think it was the reason why she stepped out of her dormitory so often. The true reason was probably her taste for fresh air and calm, which allowed her to reflect if she wanted to, or just to have a walk, her mind far from all her concerns.

“I guess I just needed calm. And solitude...”

The Hufflepuff didn't say that for Aaron to think he was bothering her – and anyhow, she was the one who had come to meet him. But originally, when she had decided to got outdoors, that was her aim : being alone.
She explained her point :

“Sometimes, it feels good not to be surrounded by “hypocritical” people...”

Naelia's tone was a bit ironic, but not wry. If he believed people were hypocritical, then let us call them so.
She didn't ask him back. Instead, she stayed silencious. Eventually, she questioned Aaron :

“Why d'you believe people are so...evil ? They mean you no harm.”

The young girl just couldn't understand why her interlocutor was so reserved with other people ; what was he fearing ? Did he have any good reason to think that way, or couldn't he just see their qualities ? Maybe there was just something, an event in his past for instance that didn't let him see the good in each individual. Or he was blind....

Wandering aroung [in English - libre] Empty
MessageSujet: Re: Wandering aroung [in English - libre]   Wandering aroung [in English - libre] EmptyMer 22 Sep - 17:29

The young witch answered : “I guess I just needed calm. And solitude... Sometimes, it feels good not to be surrounded by “hypocritical” people...” He smiled. He saw no sarcasm in her tone, and, strangely, he almost felt « close » to her, that night. Because she didn't judge him. Because the night was theirs, and they both respected it. And talking with her still brought him the calm he was looking for.
Yes, she definitely knew how to make him feel at ease ; using his expression, she showed her point of view, which was obviously different from his. She didn't feel people were hypocritical ; well that was her opinion, but he would have no difficulty proving he was right. She still believed in youth's illusions. He didn't.

He didn't answer back. Words were of not use now. And as the young girl stayed silencious, he thought that people should be a little bit more like her in that way ; how was it people always had to talk and talk and never listen ?

Finally, Naelia added : “Why d'you believe people are so...evil ? They mean you no harm.”

His laughter crossed the air, and then he was silent again. He was often asked this. In a different manner usually. Yes, usually, people asked him why he was always so cruel to other people, why he didn't try to « be nice ». Be nice... Aaron didn't care whether he was nice or not. Why would he ? He didn't live for the others, but for him ! Life was far too short to be wasted spending time trying to change just to please the people around him.

Eventually, Aaron turned his head and looked at her, without batting an eyelid. Again, a cold smile came to his lips, and, bending towards her, he kept silencious. After a few seconds, he said :

"They mean me no harm, huh ?"

The wizard waited a while, attempting to decode her thoughts. Finally, he articulated :

"Prove it."

Just two small words, insignificant words, but which insured him victory. How could she ever prove him he was wrong ? It was much easier the other way round. And, anyhow, how could he be sure that she, herself, had no bad intention towards him ?

But that night, he was not willing to « win », nor to test her. Examining people was funny by day, but at night, they were often so....obvious. As for Naelia, he didn't really know her, but at first sight, she didn't seem to be lying to him.

He waited for an answer, still curious to know how she would react.

.oOo.oOo.oOo.oOo.oOo.oOo

On lui demandait souvent cela.
